Cpl Dave B. Letter to OccupyMarines and Response From Mr. Rejean George

Davesays:

I support my fellow Marines right to free speech but I do not support the OWS movement. Don’t be fooled by the liberal left. They will use service members when it suits their cause as it does here, but we are the first ones thrown under the bus by them, remember we are baby killers to them, we terrorize people in the night, we torture “freedom or resistance fighters”, we are guilty of war crimes, they tried to pull the funding out from under us during the Iraq war. Now, they claim, since a few Marines support their cause that the Marines are with them. I say loudly and proudly “I am not with them”

Do we need change in America? Of course! How do we do it? By elections. Vote out corrupt politicians. By consumer choice. Don’t buy goods or services from companies you don’t support. If there are no alternatives start your own company with your own corporate belief system.

To my fellow Marines, remember when you were in boot camp it was hard, the hardest thing you ever had to do to that point. It took hard work, sacrifice, everything you had to become a Marine and it didn’t end there. The FMF was even harder, but that is what it takes to be a Marine. We couldn’t take a person off the street and call them a Marine, but we could take a person off the street and MAKE them a Marine. Not everyone has what it takes to be a Marine or a service member(I respect the men and women of all branches) That is what America is all about. If you want to move ahead you do it with hard work and sacrifice, if you stumble there are safety nets, but you get back on your feet and you push ahead. We are a land of equal opportunity, not equal outcome.

I still support your right to think for yourselves and your right to protest. Those are the core rights we served to protect. Just be careful in throwing your support in with Communists and Socialists. We are diametrically opposed in what we want for America.

Mr. Rejean George says:

Dear Dave B. I am glad to read your opinion and I respect it. I am glad we do agree that we do need a change in America, however you said ” How do we do it? By elections. Vote out corrupt politicians.” I think that’s our point we are sick of that system because it has proven to not work at least not for the 99%. By the time we vote out corrupt politicians the damage is already done and in most cases irreversible at the cost of innocent lives, the environment, liberty and freedom.

Our current Voting System is flawed and is also out dated. I think most of us feel a political vote is the same as, winning a CHANCE to be in a lottery, which most of us don’t even bother with because it’s a scam and a waste of any intelligent persons time.

You need to understand that most of us are fed up with the way things are because we all know from childhood that it is wrong to hurt, lie, cheat, steal, or keep secrets from each other and yet the government would like us to believe that they have good reason to do all these things to people anytime anywhere behind our backs all in our name.

No we don’t buy it anymore and we are DEMANDING a change NOW and will not stop until we succeed in reclaiming our natural birth rights to collectively have a say in how we shape our world for us and our future generations to come.

I thank you for defending our right to speak freely and to voice our opinions but please try not to label anyone unless your intentions are to promote closed-mindedness and rudeness, for free speech should not be casually wasted on such things it should be respected because so many people have given their lives for it and many more will give their lives for it. Try saying something constructive next time.

Peace and Love to you.
